This morning, the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, inaugurated Lugela Secondary School in Zambezia province, where he will also open the 2025 school year.

Chapo announced that the government will reintroduce the subjects of Patriotic Education and Moral Civics into the school curriculum, as a way of ensuring that children learn to love their homeland, its symbols and its references.

Speaking on the occasion of the central ceremonies for the opening of the 2025 school year in Lugela district, Zambezia province, under the slogan: "For Inclusive, Patriotic and Quality Education", Chapo said that the government wants to ensure that students know "where we came from, what it cost to liberate this homeland so that we don't have young people burning down our schools", he stressed.
