Chapo declares fight against the gospel of urban terrorism

Chapo declara combate ao evangelho do terrorismo urbano

The Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, said yesterday in the district of Mocuba, Zambezia province, that he will work day and night to fight the gospel of urban terrorism in the country.

"We will continue to work, 24/24, from Monday to Monday, so that this gospel of hatred that they brought to Mozambique to implant urban terrorism is combated," he said.

According to Chapo, it will be a measure to re-establish public order and tranquillity, as well as to defend the country's independence and sovereignty.

Thus, Chapo challenged the Armed and Defense Forces of Mozambique to vigorously combat the waves of illegal demonstrations in the country, observing the law.

"We cannot allow the security of our citizens, public and private infrastructures to be jeopardized by interests that are contrary to the well-being of the Mozambican people and the socio-economic development of our united country from Rovuma to Maputo," he said.

Chapo was speaking yesterday at the Opening Ceremony of the Military Operational Year 2025, under the slogan: A point of affirmation for the FADM's Capacity and Combative Readiness.

"We are also committed to creating the conditions for our DSF to be able to guarantee the protection and security of our Mozambican people, whenever they are in situations of threat or insecurity, as has been the case in recent days," he said.

On that occasion, he urged the FADM to fight terrorism in Cabo Delgado province, "so that this evil becomes history as soon as possible".
