Mozambican international Melque Alexandre has been called up to replace Witi for the last two rounds of the qualifying round for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CAN). Witi is unable to take part in both matches due to injury.
Mozambique will host Mali at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto next Friday (15), with the match starting at 6pm, in the fifth round of Group I, and will close the campaign by visiting Guinea-Bissau at the Estadio 24 de Setembro, in a clash also scheduled for 6pm, on November 19.
What's more, according to a Challenge newspaperMozambican international Chamito Alfândega is the big news on the list of players called up to the Mambas National Football Team for the fifth and sixth round matches.
Chamito, a striker from Associação Black Bulls (ABB), was called up to the senior team for the first time after standing out in the last COSAFA tournament, in which Mozambique won the bronze medal. In the tournament, the player scored four goals and was included in the ideal team of the competition, along with Dário Melo and Armando Doutor, the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
