The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is speaking to the nation today from Zambezia province, as part of the emergency resulting from the natural disasters.

According to a presidential press release, Filipe Nyusi, who is on a working visit to Zambezia province, will visit the areas and infrastructures affected by Cyclone Freddy, which recently hit part of Zambezia province, as well as meeting with the Emergency Operating Committee.

Tropical Storm Freddy hit the provinces of Zambézia, Sofala, Manica, Tete and Niassa last weekend, totally and partially destroying more than 15,000 houses, 19 classrooms and affecting more than 93,000 people.
