CAF makes exception for game at Zimpeto Stadium after ban

CAF abre excepção para jogo no Estádio do Zimpeto após interdição

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has authorized the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) to hold a match at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto (ENZ) following the recent ban.

This afternoon's match between the Black Bulls Association and Enyimba FC (from Nigeria) is part of the Confederations Cup Group Stage.

"This will be the last official match authorized at Zimpeto until the necessary improvements are completed," reads a statement from the FMF.

The ENZ was closed due to the poor condition of the ground, which "does not currently meet the standards required for the staging of official CAF/FIFA matches".

Meanwhile, the note indicates that the CAF has urged the FMF to "urgently" find an alternative stadium among those approved by the CAF. This stadium will have to host the subsequent AA club and national team matches.
