Three civilians were killed by terrorists in the district of Ancuabe, in Cabo Delgado province, following information about the insurgents' movements in several villages in the district, according to the Letter from Mozambique.
The portal, citing anonymous sources, does not indicate the date of the incidents, but says that the victims were all male. The source says that the armed men passed through at least five villages, Magaia, Nacuale, Mahegane and Nonia.
The lack of response from the Armed Forces and Defense Forces has led the population to seek refuge in other nearby places, including the main town of Ancuabe and the city of Pemba.
However, the Administrator of Ancuabe, Belmiro Casimiro, said this week that terrorists were seen circulating in the villages over the weekend and on Monday. He did not report any attacks or deaths. He assured that the Defense and Security Forces acted immediately when they became aware of the presence of terrorists in the district. He said that all institutions were fully operational.
