The district of Búzi, in Sofala, expects to harvest about 100,000 tons of rice in the current agricultural campaign.

This production will be achieved in an area of thirty thousand hectares, more than half of which has already been plowed and sown.

Búzi's Director of Economic Activities, Miguel Rabeca, says that the rain that has been falling in the district revives hopes for a good rice production.

Miguel Rabeca refers that at this moment the approximately 17 thousand rice producers in the district are engaged in the transplantation process.

The official also announced the recovery of Búzi's largest rice processing plant after it was affected by natural calamities.
