Bishop Matsinhe can say "to God" to the Anglican Church

Bispo Matsinhe pode dizer “a Deus” à igreja Anglicana

The future of the bishop of the Libombos diocese and current president of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Dom Carlos Matsinhe, could be decided this Tuesday by the Permanent Commission of the Anglican Church of Mozambique.

MZNews understands that the extraordinary assembly called to take place this afternoon in Chamanculo has as its only agenda item "the immediate resignation of the Bishop of Libombos".

The IAMA (Anglican Church in Mozambique and Angola) summons to the meeting was issued by order of Dom Carlos Simão Matsinhe and signed by Diocesan Administrator Elves Lucas Gumete.

The electoral bulletin of the Center for Public Integrity recalls that on October 22, a few days before Dom Matsinhe announced the election results of October 11, the Anglican Council of Mozambique called on Dom Matsinhe to lead the body in close observance of the Electoral Law and the practice of truth.

However, Dom Carlos Matsinhe presented Mozambicans with dubious election results. Several voices claim that the results were forged, with the possible consent of the president of the CNE.

This could be the main reason that determines Matsinhe's future in the Anglican Church.
