Bernardino Rafael sends officers to the Reserve to save money and fight idleness in the PRM

Bernardino Rafael manda oficiais à Reserva para poupar dinheiro e combater o ócio na PRM

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) will send more than 500 officers to the Reserve this year, in order to ease the strain on the corporation's finances and allow it to have enough officers to meet its needs.

The measure also aims to revitalize the PRM and make it more operational with the capacity to respond to new challenges.

"These reserves have an economic effect. There have to be officers exclusively for necessary posts and not officers without any occupation. That doesn't help the police," said PRM General Commander Bernardino Rafael.

According to Bernardino Rafael, PRM leaders spend a lot of time and effort trying to assign officers to a post or position. "Officers with no occupation get in the way of leadership," he said, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

The Commander of the PRM was speaking this Tuesday at the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year at the Osvaldo Tanzama Police Sergeants School, in the Nhamatanda district of Sofala.
