Mozambican international Filipa Calisto has signed for George Washington University. The basketballer joins the team after having represented New Mexico Junior College (playing in the NJCAA) last season.

According to a Challenge newspaperIn March of this year, as an NMJC athlete, Filipa was named to the 2023-2024 Women's All Conference Team of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference of NJCAA Region V. In 31 games, Filipa Calisto averaged 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

Her average field goal percentage was 45.7%, while her average free throw percentage was 64.8%. The athlete from Clube Ferroviário da Beira also represented the U16 and U18 National Team, which took part in the World Championship in 2019.
