The Bank of Mozambique has appointed two new resident inspectors of commercial banks in the national financial market.
These are Adelina José Chilaúle, who will be working at Banco Comercial e de Investimentos, S.A.; and Cláudio Júlio Mangue, who will be working at Standard Bank, S.A.
A press release from the Central Bank sent to our newsroom today states that the appointments will take effect on October 14, 2024.
The bank notes that the decision aims to "guarantee continuous, objective and impartial monitoring of the activities of credit institutions and financial companies, preserving the interests of customers and ensuring the stability of the financial system".
The institution says that the new resident inspectors will continue the risk-based approach and participate in relevant meetings of the collegial bodies of BCI and Standard Bank, which "remain solid and stable".
