The African Development Bank Group has approved a $1 million grant to boost local content and Small and Medium Enterprise development initiativesin Mozambique, in job creation.
According to the African Development Bank (AfDB), the donation will serve to provide technical and institutional advice to the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises on direct support to start-ups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, with a focus on youth and women-led businesses.
The project will cover over 150 local businesses, facilitating access to skills, certification, contracts, and financing from local financial institutions, in the tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors.
The areas of information and communication technologies, health, and transportation will also be covered, with the aim of facilitating the supply links of goods and services between Small, Medium and Large Enterprises, including governmental entities and non-governmental organizations.
