The provincial government of Zambezia advocates the need to enhance public-private partnerships and producer associations to protect the investments being made in the rehabilitation and construction of irrigation infrastructure.
The provincial director of Agriculture and Fisheries in Zambezia, Fernando Namucua, said this Thursday, in an interview to Notícias, that many investments will be made for the rehabilitation of 501 hectares in the irrigated lands of Paz, Cheverano and Limane, in Mopeia and Murirri.
According to Fernando Namucua, this management model can help make the irrigated lands sustainable, thus allowing the investment to be maximized because associations alone have already proven to face difficulties.
The source said that in a few days, the rehabilitation of the Paz and Cheverano irrigation ponds will begin and the construction of the Limane irrigation pond, in the Mopeia district, and the rehabilitation of Morrir, in Morrumbala, will start.
At the moment, the administrative procedures for the release of the funds are underway.
