Aston Martin gets first electric in 2026

Manufacturers have been introducing their new electric models, responding to the growing demand. This time, the announcement was made by Aston Martin, whose first electric car will arrive in 2026.

Apparently, the new model will replace the well-known DB11.

A few weeks ago, Tobias Moersthe CEO of Aston Martinconfirmed that the British manufacturer's range will be gradually electrified over the next five years. The first step in this direction will be taken as early as September, with the Valkyrie sports hybrid. Later, two more sports cars will be launched - the Vanquish and the Valhalla.

As well as the three sports models mentioned, the classic Vantage, DB11 and DBS will also undergo changes. In fact, this will be Aston Martin's first purely electric range, as all three will be replaced by electric models.

"It's obvious that we have to have next-generation sports cars that are purely electric. That's clear. It makes sense. We sell dreams, and when you sell dreams, you have to consider the needs of the customer. You don't need our cars to drive from A to B. It should be an aspirational interpretation of Aston Martin-style electric driving," said Tobias Moers.

According to Moers' estimates, by 2030 half of Aston Martin's offering will be 100% electric. To this end, the manufacturer's CEO is building a team dedicated to electric car engineering in order to reduce its dependence on third-party components. For him, the development of in-house skills is crucial to the success of the coming transformation.

Despite the investment in electrification, Moers stressed that Aston Martin will continue to offer cars with combustion engine for as long as possible. This, because they are "flexible" and can "adjust to demand," since "there are still consumers out there who want a sports car [...] with an internal combustion engine."
