The L.U.T.O. por Moz Movement brought together dozens of artists this Saturday on Avenida 10 de Novembro, in the downtown area of Maputo, to call for dialogue and an end to the post-election protests through various artistic demonstrations.
The art makers believe that the parties involved in the protests must find points of compromise. They deplored the deaths that have occurred as part of the protests. More than 100 people have died and thousands have been injured.
Mozambique is going through the worst post-election crisis since the first multi-party elections in 1994.
"We are in the middle of chaos now and I think the mission now is to minimize the damage that could still happen. The government must be prepared to give in," said Stewart Sukuma.
The musician said that the event aims to "convey an image of reconciliation", but also to repudiate the violation of human rights.
