AMUSI criminally prosecutes Nampula district STAE operations director

AMUSI Processa criminalmente o director de Operações do STAE distrital de Nampula

The United Movement for Integral Salvation (AMUSI) party announced yesterday that it had submitted a criminal complaint to the Nampula City Judicial Court against the operations director of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) in the Nampula district.

The complaint stemmed from the fact that the director of STAE had set up a registration office on the grounds of the Islamic detention center, Muaz bin Jabal, a place of worship located in the Marien Nguabi communal unit, in Namutequeliua, on the outskirts of the city of Nampula.

The criminal complaint filed by AMUSI is also against the officer of the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) assigned to the post in question, who prevented his candidate in the district from doing his job at the post.

He violently withdrew his credential on the grounds that he was following orders from his superiors.

AMUSI says that there are many irregularities taking place in this census. For AMUSI, the irregularities are a real preparation for electoral fraud. (CIP Elections)
