The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM) announced on Wednesday (26) in Maputo that the general assembly of this organization decided to support the candidacy of Álvaro Massingue for the presidency of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), currently led by Agostinho Vuma..
This is the second time that Álvaro Massingue has run for the leadership of the country's largest employer, having been beaten by Vuma in the previous elections.
According to a AIMMassingue announced this during the presentation of a study on the impact of the recent vandalizations suffered by private companies in Mozambique during the post-election demonstrations, as well as the creation of the Catalytic Fund.
The fund, a government initiative, opens up new financing opportunities for companies affected by the vandalizations with a view to boosting the Mozambican economy.
"Over the years we have worked side by side with you, we have deepened our understanding of the challenges affecting the business sector, this trajectory has allowed us to consolidate our experience in associativism and establish strategic partnerships with public and private institutions that share our vision of a stronger, more competitive and resilient sector. I take this opportunity to share with you with great satisfaction and responsibility that the CCM general assembly has decided to present our candidacy for the presidency of the CTA," said Álvaro Massingue.
The source says that his candidacy reflects his commitment to innovative, participative leadership, focused on concrete results and on building a dynamic, inclusive and sustainable business environment.
"Years of dedication to the association have allowed us to build solid relationships with various partners and to receive the support and motivation needed to go ahead with this candidacy. That's why we're reaffirming our commitment here today and announcing that we will formally present our candidacy for the CTA elections, the date of which will be announced shortly," he added, stressing that the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce will be presenting a candidacy for the CTA and has the support of members of the CCM, CTA and other institutions.
