In an interview with STVForquilha said that the relationship between him and the PODEMOS presidential candidate after his return to Mozambique is one of "recovering" what was lost, explaining that "a fundamental part of the relationship was lost, which is trust, especially the agreements that were signed". "We have the same cause, the same struggle, so there has to be some operational trust here," he added.

Albino Forquilha revealed that he had already met with Venâncio Mondlane since he returned to the country and that he felt the conditions were right for the relationship between the parties to continue. However, the PODEMOS leader says that he has not forgotten the problems of the past.

"I've often had these questions, whether we're together or not, etc., but to safeguard the agreement, I've always said yes, that we were coordinating. But in reality, we weren't coordinating," revealed Forquilha, explaining that in principle he wanted to protect their relationship.
