The President of the Constitutional Council (CC), Lúcia Ribeiro, said today in Maputo that the date for announcing the results of the General Elections of October 9 has not yet been set.
"We don't yet have a date [for the validation and release of the results] but we will know," he said at the end of his meeting this afternoon with the top leadership of the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique.
The meeting, which was open to the press, addressed the issue of the time it takes to validate the results and the processes underway.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairwoman of the CC expressed her openness to receiving Podemos, although there were more issues to be dealt with before the results were validated.
As he left the meeting, speaking to journalists, the President of Podemos, Albino Forquilha, expressed his displeasure for realizing that disputes will only be dealt with when the results are validated. But also for having obtained elements that allowed him to foresee the presentation of results that fell short of the electoral truth.
