The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane announced that the government allocates, annually, to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, 0.1% of total revenues to respond to the damages resulting from natural disasters in the country.
Adriano Maleiane made these statements this Monday, in the main town of Monapo, while interacting with the more than two thousand people affected by the Tropaical Cyclone Gombe who are at the Transitional Center of the Primary and Comprehensive School of Topelane.
The Prime Minister, who was on a working visit to Nampula a few days ago, said that the damage caused by the phenomenon, which caused deaths and destruction of public and private sector infrastructure and residences of individuals, is currently being assessed.
According to Adriano Maleiane, after the passage of Tropical Cyclone Gombe, the government's priorities at this moment are the reestablishment of electrical power, water and access roads and the creation of conditions for the affected families to return to their homes and continue with their normal lives.
Already some families who were victims of Tropical Cyclone Gombe and are residing in the Topelane Primary and Comprehensive School Transitional Center said they were taken by surprise by the appearance of the phenomenon.
In Monapo, the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane besides visiting the families affected by the floods also visited the Local Health Center to be aware of the level of response of those affected in this period of Emergency.
