Terrorists are circulating in the coastal towns of Macomia, warned the district administrator, Tomás Badae, although the headquarters are still calm.
According to the source, terrorists have already been spotted at the two administrative posts on the coast, Mucojo and Quitarajo, and there are also problems at the administrative post.
"...and the situation there is not good. You can see the terrorists moving around a lot. But here in the village the situation is calm," he said, quoted by STV.
He said that there are mobile brigades to guarantee health care for the population, "especially for the administrative post and Mucojo".
He said that traffic in Quiterajo is disrupted.
Reports from the population of Mucojo say that Mozambican troops have abandoned the town, leaving them to their own devices. It is said that the terrorists have sent a letter to the national troops announcing new attacks in the near future in that part of the country. This would have been the reason for the population's abandonment.
