On Saturday, December 3, Maputo hosted a pilot golf event called THE GOLF CUP MILLENNIUM BIM CFAO. The tournament, which took place at the Polana Golf Course, was very well attended and proved to be a huge success.
As sponsors of the competition, Millennium bim and CFAO gave their name to this tournament, which is expected to become a benchmark in Mozambique, with this first pilot being a trial run for a golf championship in 2023, as is already the case in Angola.
A total of 40 teams (80 players) from more than 30 companies and institutions from different areas took part, including technology, oil & gas, beverages (water and beer), food distribution companies, mobile operators and insurance companies, among others.
The Millennium bim team took 1st place on the podium, the Quiz team took 2nd place and the Heineken team took 3rd place.
The event focused on companies, brands and entrepreneurs, using the golf competition as a space for network and a privileged stage for developing relationships and exchanging knowledge. Each company or organization had the opportunity to register more than one team, made up of two amateur players, with handicap duly assessed by the organization or another perfectly recognized body linked to golf.
The organization was the responsibility of Adigeste, a company with vast experience in this area, which has been promoting golf events in Angola since 2014 and is renowned for its commitment to quality.
The tournament, with two teams of two players going out every 10 minutes, all from the tee 1, was played over 18 holes and in accordance with the Rules of Golf approved by the R&A Limited and the Local Rules defined by the tournament's Technical Committee.
