Acidente de viação faz dois feridos em Niassa

A road accident involving a passenger car belonging to the Nagi company overturned this morning, injuring two people, in Chirope, Mitande Administrative Post, Mandimba district, Niassa province.

The victims, two children - one of whom was a newborn and sustained head injuries - were immediately taken to the nearest hospital by another bona fide motorist.

According to a passenger in the accident vehicle, they were traveling from Lichinga to the city of Nampula at a "moderate" speed, and the car overturned as a result of the explosion of one of the front tires.

"After the explosion the driver couldn't control the vehicle. As it was a bend, he couldn't control the curve, went off the road and the car overturned," he said, quoted by the Success TV.

After learning of the accident, the Governor of Niassa, Judite Massengele, went to the scene to find out the causes and express her solidarity with the victims.

"We call for conscious and prudent driving to avoid blood on the roads. Life is priceless. We must always be prudent," he said.
