At least 15 people died yesterday in a collision between two minibuses transporting pupils to school and a heavy vehicle in the province of Limpopo in northeastern South Africa, according to local press reports.
The Provincial Department of Transport and Community Safety, quoted by the South African newspaper The Times and Lusa, indicated that rescue teams are working in the area. The cause of the incident is not yet known.
The same source later indicated on his Twitter account that "the site of the collision between several vehicles on the R-579 in Motetema, in the Sekhukhune district, has been cleared" and that the road has already been reopened to traffic.
