Absa Bank Mozambique has recently promoted the second training "Workshop" for journalists in the field of analysis and interpretation of annual accounts reports issued by banks for subsequent disclosure in the media.
Among the various topics covered, we highlight the chapter on the operational context of banking; international financial reporting standards; the main financial instruments; financial inclusion, and the impacts of publications in the national press.
Absa Bank's intention is to contribute to the enrichment of the journalistic material regarding the disclosure of the operational results of a specific period, with particular attention to the annual reports.
Thus, the bank intends to continue to promote training and capacity-building for journalists "[by making available] tools that subsidize the exercise of the profession in a universal, objective and impartial manner, and in favor of the construction of knowledge," according to Customer Service Director Tânia Simões.
Recall that Absa promoted in November 2020, in partnership with Rhodes University, South Africa, a training course for journalists called "Masterclass/Course in Data Journalism" which aimed to equip journalists with the ability to report on financial issues.
