According to provisional figures shared this Wednesday by the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD), another 20 people were injured.
Tropical Storm Jude formed on March 6 in the southwestern Indian Ocean basin as a low-pressure system and evolved into a tropical cyclone. It hit the mainland on March 10 through the Mossuril district in the northern province of Nampula with strong, gusty winds and heavy rain.
INGD figures show that at least 1,863 families were affected by the cyclone and 908 houses were completely destroyed, with nine health facilities and four houses of worship also affected.
