Frelimo in Zambezia has been without its first secretary for about a month, following the appointment of Momade Arnaldo Juízo to the post of Secretary of State for the Sea and Fisheries, according to the presidential order.

According to the newspaper Zambezi DiaryMomade Juízo had been in office since July 13 last year, following an internal uproar that led to the dismissal of the "sailor", Paulino Lenço. With the departure of the former Member of the National Assembly, a vacancy has opened up in the leadership of the comrades' party in this part of the country, the second largest constituency in the country.

Meanwhile, in a document quoted by the same newspaper, the Secretariat of the Provincial Committee tells interested members of the body to submit their candidates by March 11, which is yesterday.

"It's another dispute that could be close, looking at the appetites of the comrades for the position, and the next few days will be interesting," says the same publication, recalling that Momade Juízo asked President Daniel Chapo to leave Zambezia after receiving alleged death threats, apparently from within his own party.
