Pope Francis, hospitalized since February 14, had two episodes of acute respiratory failure on Monday, with the presence of a lot of secretion and consequent bronchospasm.
The Pope had to wear a mask to have mechanical ventilation, after having spent the previous day without the nasal aeration mechanism.
Recent information from the Vatican indicates that the situation has improved and the Pope spent the night calmly.
Since being hospitalized, the Pope's health has alternated between improvement and relapse. Some doctors estimate that he will remain in hospital for at least another two weeks.
