Former presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane has announced the creation of his own party, after ending his relationship with PODEMOS, the political force with which he had a "political" agreement for the October 9, 2024 general elections..

The announcement was made in front of thousands of people during a lightning visit to the Chibuto district, in Gaza province, last Friday (07).

"No more hitchhiking without paying, right? No more asking to get into a car all the time, is that right? This year we're going to have our own party," said Mondlane, in a publication by the RFI.

Last week, Venâncio Mondlane announced, in a statement signed by his main advisor, the end of the political agreement with the Podemos party, stressing that "Not everything in life is about money and positions".
