The Mozambican senior women's basketball team will face their Angolan counterparts today (04), at 19h:00, in the main pavilion of the Cidadela Sports Complex in Luanda, in the second and decisive game of the play-off for access to Afrobasket-2025, which will take place from July 25 to August 3 in Côte d'Ivoire.
The match defines the only spot in Zone VI (Southern Africa) for the competition. According to a Challenge newspaperIn tonight's clash, Angola need to win by more than seven points to qualify, having lost the first encounter by six points (50-44). Those coached by Nilton Malheira, meanwhile, can qualify with any win or a defeat of up to five points.
The Cidadela Desportiva pavilion, with a capacity for 7,000 spectators, is expected to be packed, boosted by the free admission and the national holiday in Angola, which celebrates the 54th anniversary of the start of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, which took place on February 4, 1961.
