The daughter of former president Duduzile Zuma is due to appear in a Durban court tomorrow to answer charges of inciting violence in South Africa.
Zuma's daughter allegedly circulated messages on the X platform in July 2021, after the arrest of her father, Jacob Zuma. Because of their content, the country was paralyzed, with Zuma's supporters destabilizing the country.
The uMkhonto weSizwe party spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela, confirmed that Duduzile Zuma's lawyer was notified of the charges last week.
On Tuesday, the party announced that Duduzile Zuma would appear in court and asked party members to turn up to support her.
During testimony at the South African Human Rights Commission's investigation into the riots, Jean le Roux, from the Digital Forensics Research Lab, said that Zuma's daughter published the most commemorative posts during the July 2021 riots.
However, in 2022, Zuma-Sambudla was not among the instigators of the July 20 unrest, even though she was under investigation.
