The Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant (HCB), located in the province of Tete, achieved an estimated production of more than fifteen thousand seven hundred gigawatts last year.
As a result of this performance, HCB, one of the largest energy producers in the region, estimates that it will generate 18 billion meticais for the state coffers.
Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa explains that last year's energy production was driven by maximizing financial gains, according to the company's press release.
The statement also stresses that last year's gains were achieved in an adverse hydro-climatic context, the negative impact of which led to the adoption and implementation of management measures for the operation of the reservoir.
