Isse defende combate à corrupção no sector da saúde

The Minister of Health, Ussene Isse, argues that success in combating the sector's challenges depends on unity, work and avoiding intrigue and corruption.

Isse was speaking on Wednesday afternoon (22) at the Ministry of Health, in Maputo, during the ceremony to receive portfolios from his predecessor, Armindo Tiago.
On the occasion, the new head of Health pointed out that the challenges facing the National Health System in Mozambique are well known and that there are experiences accumulated over time to combat these problems. "There's no time to lose, just get to work," he emphasized.
The new Minister of Health is a general surgeon, and throughout his career he has held management and leadership positions as National Director of Medical Assistance and director of various health units, including Mavalane General Hospital and Lichinga Provincial Hospital.
For his part, the outgoing minister, Armindo Tiago, presented a farewell message in which he thanked his predecessor, Nazira Abdula, and all the professionals in the sector for their collaboration and dedication.
He hoped that the new minister and his team would sow "better seeds" to reap even more significant results for the benefit of the health sector and Mozambique. (JN)
