From February 1 to 28, the Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo is opening applications for a literary residency, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from May 1 to 31, 2025. This program is aimed at authors of Mozambican nationality, or officially resident in Mozambique, with published work.
Literary Exchange Programme promoted under the Cooperation Protocol between Lisbon City Council and Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, IP, through its Portuguese Cultural Centre in Maputo, which selects an author with a published work, as an incentive to literary creation and a commitment to the internationalization of culture.
The applications must be formalized by filling in a form, preferably sent to the following e-mail address geral.camoes-ccp@tvcabo.co.mz with the other elements of the application referred to in the Rules for Participation, not exceeding a total of 10MB, or by means of an opaque, closed envelope, duly identified, sent to Av. Julius Nyerere, 720, Maputo.

The selected writer will have the opportunity to develop a literary creation project, benefiting from a grant of seven hundred and fifty euros (750€), paid international travel and free accommodation in the city of Lisbon.
During the same period, and under the same conditions, the Municipal Directorate of Culture of the Municipality of Lisbon is opening applications for a literary residency, to be held in the city of Maputo, Mozambique, from October 1 to 31, 2025. This program is aimed at authors of Portuguese nationality with published work; or who have a tax address or who are demonstrably living, studying and/or working in the municipality of Lisbon. In this case, applications are submitted online, through the LAAR artistic residency platform, at laar.cm-lisboa.pt, where you can also consult the respective Rules of Participation.
