The United Bank for Africa, UBA, through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Africa's leading philanthropic organization, has announced the opening of applications for Africa's largest Entrepreneurship Program 2025.
The opportunity is also open to young Mozambicans who will be able to sign up and take part in the transformative initiative, with a view to fostering job creation, alleviating poverty and boosting sustainable economic growth in the country and on the African continent, reads a statement from the UBA.
The bank says that entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive world-class training, expert guidance and non-refundable start-up capital funding of five thousand dollars to expand their businesses.
In 2024, 52 young Mozambican entrepreneurs received funding worth a total of 260,000 dollars, out of a total of 17 million dollars that were invested in the areas of agriculture, food, commerce, fashion, poultry and ICT.
The program has trained more than 18,000 entrepreneurs from 54 African countries since its creation in 2015.
Tony Elumelu, founder of the Foundation and Chairman of the United Bank for Africa Group (UBA), emphasizes that African entrepreneurs have the potential and creativity to transform the continent.
"Through TEF's Entrepreneurship Programs, we continue to open doors and provide tools for them to achieve success," said Elumelu.
