Malawi is "concerned" about the post-election crisis in Mozambique and urges the parties to find ways to resolve the conflict, which also puts the development of the southern African region at risk.
The concern, according to "O País" , was expressed by the Malawian President's representative in Mozambique, after a meeting with the Head of State.
In addition to expressing her solidarity with the country's situation, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, who is also Malawi's health minister, expressed Malawi's full support for Mozambique.
"But it should be noted that the main message I brought here is a message of hope for the peace and stability of Mozambique, because any situation of instability in Mozambique also affects Malawi. Mozambique is a special partner, a very important partner for Malawi. We have had very strong support from President Nyusi himself, who has been committed to strengthening these relations," she said, quoted by the newspaper.
