Millennium bim has announced that it will be holding a national Solidarity Christmas. This action reflects the Bank's commitment to supporting the neediest communities in Mozambique.
According to a Millennium bim press release, the initiative will involve the active participation of volunteer employees in visits to 20 organizations, including shelters, hospitals and orphanages.
"The initiative is part of Millennium bim's social responsibility program `Mais Moçambique pra Mim' (More Mozambique for Me), whose annual program includes social impact actions in various areas, with Solidarity Christmas being a way of contributing to a more welcoming moment for those most in need during the Christmas season," the document states.
Quoted in the same document, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Millennium bim, Moisés Jorge, stressed that the institution he runs not only contributes to the financial development of Mozambique, "but we also take on the responsibility of supporting the communities we serve in times of need. Solidarity Christmas is more than a gesture of solidarity, it is a commitment to bring hope, joy and comfort to those who need it most, reinforcing our social role throughout the country".
