Fourteen undocumented Mozambican children were rescued last Friday by the South African authorities when they were being trafficked to South Africa.
The rescue took place at the Libombo border crossing and the driver transporting the minors was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the illegal entry of people into South Africa, according to "O País".
The children are currently in the custody of the South African Ministry of Social Development.
According to the same source, on Saturday, eight Bangladeshi citizens were arrested while trying to enter South Africa illegally via the border with Zimbabwe.
