The population of Muecate district, in Nampula province, vandalized the Frelimo party's District Committee late on Wednesday morning. Boxes containing voters' cards were found inside the First Secretary's office.

According to a CanalmozOthers were hidden inside broken computer processors. "People took the cards and spread them on the road," says the same publication.

Voter cards are personal and non-transferable documents.

Muecate is about 60 kilometers from the city of Nampula.
