The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) have just shot dead a young man during the peaceful demonstration taking place at the Zimpeto wholesale market, the largest in the city of Maputo.

According to a CanalmozThe protesters had erected a grave of Daniel Chapo and the police became enraged and opened fire on the protesters, all of whom were market vendors.

In retaliation for the murder, the population went to the police station inside the market and completely vandalized it. "At the moment there is chaos in the market. A car that was parked at the police station was set on fire," says the same publication.
