Five people with serious and minor injuries were admitted to Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) yesterday, victims of incidents during the demonstrations called by the presidential candidate, supported by the PODEMOS party, Venâncio Mondlane.
According to Dino Lopes, head of HCM's Emergency Services, one of the victims is in a serious condition, while the other two have moderate injuries and are stable. "The victims continue to receive medical attention," he said.
Quoted by NewsLopes said that the patient in critical condition is a 29-year-old woman who was run over by the military armored vehicle on Avenida Eduardo Mondlane. "We are redoubling our efforts to get her out of critical condition," he said.
He also assured that the hospital is prepared to receive and treat possible new victims of the demonstrations. "We are equipped and ready to deal with other cases that may arise during the day," he concluded.
