A fault has been depriving more than 20,000 customers in four districts of Zambézia province of their power supply for four days, which is affecting the operation of small industries and the lives of consumers..

The customers affected are from the districts of Mopeia, Morrumbala, Luabo and Derre.

Speaking in a NewsThe head of the Operational Planning Department of the Quelimane Customer Service Area at Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Alcide Goveia, said that the fault caused a short circuit and the consequent fall of two electricity transmission poles.

The source said that a team of technicians from the company had been on the ground since yesterday to solve the problem and guaranteed that power would be restored to those districts in the next few hours.
