The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) confirmed the kidnapping of a Portuguese businessman who works in the construction industry, which took place yesterday afternoon (29), on Avenida Armando Tivane, in the Polana neighborhood, in the city of Maputo.
In a publication by AIMThe spokesman for the PRM in Maputo city, Leonel Muchina, assured that the corporation is already on the trail of the perpetrators for the subsequent capture and rescue of the victim.
"The authorities are in possession of the kidnapped businessman's cell phone because at the time of the crime, "the citizen would have dropped it," said the spokesman.
Images captured by a security camera and circulated on social media minutes after the crime show a group of four individuals being transported in a Toyota SUV.
They came out with guns drawn towards the businessman, dragged him into the SUV that was already in position and left the scene at high speed.
At the scene, the kidnappers fired three shots in the air to disperse the people nearby, including an agent from a private security company, who tried to help the victim.
