Polícia diz que a morte de Elvino Dias e do Paulo Guambe tem a ver com discussão conjugal

This afternoon, the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) in Maputo confirmed the murder of Elvino Dias, Venâncio Mondlane's lawyer, and Paulo Guambe, a member of the PODEMOS party..

According to PRM spokesperson Leonel Muchina, the deaths of Elvino Dias and Paulo Guambe were the result of a marital argument when they were socializing with friends in a small market in the Malhangalene neighbourhood, known as Pulmão.

"The crime occurred when the victims, who were being transported in a BMW X6 model car, heading west to east, were approached and blocked by two light vehicles from which unidentified individuals disembarked, who, using firearms, fired several shots, causing the death and wounding of the citizens identified above," said the PRM spokesman.

Leonel Muchina went on to explain that "moments before what happened, the victims had been socializing at the market known as Pulmão, in the Malhangalene neighbourhood, where they allegedly had an argument about marital affairs, which they then followed".

Meanwhile, the PRM said it was working to clarify the case.
