The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) arrested two teachers in Gaza, accused of kidnapping a 10-year-old girl. The accused were demanding a ransom payment of 500,000 meticais.
According to SERNIC, the rescue of the child, who did not remain in the hands of the kidnappers for 24 hours, was possible thanks to the intervention of SERNIC, in response to a request made by the child's mother.
"The child was allegedly kidnapped during her break at Macamuine Primary School, on the outskirts of the town of Xai-Xai," SERNIC said, quoted by the newspaper News.
In the possession of the two teachers, who are also professional colleagues of the child's mother, cell phones used to demand the ransom were seized.
