The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, today led a wreath laying ceremony at the Mozambican Heroes' Square in Maputo City to celebrate the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation..

The event, which marks the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the General Peace Agreement, will also be marked by the awarding of National Individuals distinguished by the Head of State, in recognition of their selfless efforts to enhance the achievements of national independence, Mozambicanness and national development.

Later today, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) will receive a greeting from the Armed Defense Forces of Mozambique (FADM), on the occasion of the celebration of their 60th anniversary, to be held at the Office of the President of the Republic.
