The presidential candidate supported by PODEMOS, an extra-parliamentary party, Venâncio Mondlane, thanked his supporters for their support and asked Maputo, the country's capital, to be an example to "save Mozambique".
"Maputo! Save Mozambique! This is our country! Hail Mozambique! Are you there? If you're there, make some noise! Thank you very much for your support and welcome," said Mondlane late on Friday afternoon (20) on his arrival at Maputo International Airport, after an almost three-week tour of the center and north of the country on an election campaign.
Cited by AIMAt the time, Mondlane shared with supporters of his candidacy that the election manifesto had been well received in various parts of the country.
"We had almost three weeks in the central and northern zones and the result was far above our expectations," he said.
According to the presidential candidate supported by PODEMOS, "the message was very well received and the biggest surprise for us was going into localities or places where there isn't much communication technology and feeling that people know Venâncio".
"People know Venâncio, they know our project, they know the general lines of the project. It was wonderful," he said.
Mondlane reiterated that it was wonderful to "go to areas that are difficult to access, such as Macanga, Mucassana, more remote, inhospitable areas".
"But the message is there. So I'm very motivated to continue this battle," he concluded.
