The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is on a three-day working visit to New York, in the United States of America (USA), to take part in the Future Summit, in response to an invitation from the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres..

The event, to be held on the 22nd and 23rd under the slogan: "Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow", aims to produce an intergovernmental pact for action on sustainable development and financing for development, peace and security, science, technology and innovation, digital cooperation, youth and future generations, and the transformation of global governance.

According to a AIMThe Mozambican head of state will speak at Interactive Dialogue 2, under the slogan: "Strengthening Multilateralism for International Peace and Security" and at the Summit plenary session, where he will share Mozambique's vision for building a better country and a fairer world and its potential for accelerating the implementation of the development agenda of the countries of the Global South, as well as reaffirming the country's commitment to multilateralism.

On the 23rd, Nyusi will lead a High-Level Dialogue on the Miombo Initiative, an event organized by Mozambique, which will be attended by heads of state and government from the African countries that own the Miombo forest and US businessmen.

At this event, Mozambique intends to consolidate the financing mechanism for the Miombo Initiative, publicize the governance and fund management platform for the Miombo Initiative and reinforce the commitment to financing the operationalization of the letter of intent adopted in Washington DC.
