Three senior members of the Jehovah's Witnesses church are facing criminal charges for undue access and threats in the Massinga district court in Inhambane province. The accusation comes from a citizen who is demanding compensation of almost two million meticais.
The three defendants, who are answering a common case, were in the dock on Thursday (12) for allegedly orchestrating the expulsion of the plaintiff, Maurício Fernando, from the congregation.
Fernando worked in the translation department at the Jehovah's Witnesses church, and was removed from the congregation last year after publishing information on practices that violate church principles.
Sentencing in the case has been set for September 24th (Source: TV Sucesso)
