The President of the Optimistic Party for the Development of Mozambique (Podemos) said on Friday that the political formation is already facing difficulties in terms of logistics to ensure the electoral campaign. Voting campaigns for the October 9 general elections entered their second week today. They began on August 24.
"Logistical conditions are a serious problem," said Albino Forquilha, after a trip to South Africa.
In the meantime, efforts seem to be underway to resolve the lack of logistics, so that the plan to move into the districts and rural areas in the middle of the campaign period can be realized. "We hope that we will have reinforced logistics by then."
On the other hand, Podemos says it has held talks with the Democratic Alliance (DA), the largest opposition party in South Africa. The idea is that, in some way, the DA can support Podemos in the upcoming elections. "We think that in the future cooperation could be on an economic level."
In addition to the parties, Forquilha also held meetings with South African civil society. "It was an intense interaction, but socio-political, with civil society, which was interested in interacting with us and we gave a briefing on what is happening and what our expectations are as a party and as a country," he said.
